The Louvre is Offering Free Access to its Collection Online

Taking a trip and visiting a museum hasn’t been possible for most of the world over the course of the past year due to the ongoing pandemic, so the Louvre has begun digitizing its collection to make it available online.

The Paris museum is offering avid art and history enthusiasts with free access to its various collection databases from the comfort of their own home to look through at their own pace.

The site is updated daily and includes pieces from eight curatorial departments and more.

Visitors to the Louvre database website can take themselves on a virtual tour using an interactive map in order to recreate the experience of traipsing through the museum, while using the search engine will bring them right to specific works.
