BrightDrop’s Neighborhood Delivery Hub is Eco-Friendly

BrightDrop, an EV-based delivery company, established a neighborhood delivery hub in Seattle to provide sustainable delivery solutions to locals.

The hub was created in partnership with the University of Washington’s Urban Freight Lab (UFL) and the City of Seattle alongside AxleHire, Coaster Cycles, and REEF. BrightDrop’s neighborhood delivery hub is designed to provide last-mile delivery services that support consumers, the city, and the environment. In addition, the zero-emission service will aid Seattle in meeting its goal of reduced emissions in the transportation sector.

The neighborhood delivery hub consists of three primary parts that fulfill a range of consumer delivery needs. First, a neighborhood kitchen offers consumers deliveries from their favorite restaurants in a low-emissions format. Second, a common-carrier parcel locker supplies locals with contactless delivery from major package carriers in a secure, convenient, and eco-friendly way. Finally, a last-mile delivery service that employs BrightDrop’s cargo bike, the EP1, rounds out the neighborhood delivery hub. These services improve consumer access to products while minimizing the industry’s impact on the environment.
