Seiko Astron GPS Solar
Seiko Watch Corp. will add three new models to its Seiko Astron GPS Solar line of wristwatches next February that will feature flashier designs and 20% higher prices.
Introduced in September 2012, the Seiko Astron GPS Solar series of solar-powered wristwatches use the GPS satellite network to provide accurate time anywhere in the world. The original models have a staid design for the practical businessperson.
The three new models are for those seeking style as well as accuracy. The watch face depicts a global map as viewed from above the North Pole, and its sapphire crystal cover has a domed shape to represent the stratosphere. The three models will offer a choice of different colors and watchband materials for consumers in more than 50 countries.
In Japan, the three new offerings will have a suggested retail price of 236,250 yen, which is around 20% higher than the existing series models.
