LG Electronics Shows Off New 5G Smartphone

LG Electronics Inc announced its first 5G smartphone at an event that it had in Barcelona, Spain, Feb 24, 2019.

The phone, “LG V50 ThinQ 5G,” is equipped with a 6.4-inch QHD+ (3,120 x 1,440-pixel) OLED display. The chipset employed for the phone is Qualcomm Inc’s “Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform with Snapdragon X50 5G Modem.” When combined with “Dual Screen for LG V5,” which is available as an option, it can be used as a dual-screen smartphone.

This time, LG Electronics also announced “LG G8 ThinQ,” which is equipped with a 6.1-inch QHD+ (3,120 x 1,440-pixel) OLED display. It supports palm vein authentication and the “Air Motion” function, which enables to control the phone by hand gestures, etc.
