Inspecto Machine Looks for Chemical Contaminants in Food Products

Chemical contaminants in food are of big concern for consumers and as a result, many opt-in for non-GMO and organic.

To check for contaminants, however, farmers and businesses have to send products and produce to a lab and wait on the results. Inspecto attempts to streamline this process and give farmers and distributors a peace of mind when selling organic goods.

Inspecto checks for chemical contaminants in food through a break-down of ingredients. It uses the Raman Spectroscopy technique to do so.

Inspecto can be used by farmers to measure pesticide residue levels, by food producers to check the quality of a product before purchasing and during storage, by supermarkets to check produce prior to placing it on the shelves, as well as by regulatory officials.
