To fill this void in the market, Dominique Barnes and Michelle Wolf founded New Wave Foods. The company is dedicated to producing plant-based seafood products that are suitable for vegetarians and vegans. The company’s first product is sustainable shrimp made out of algae. In addition to algae, the faux shrimp also contain other plant proteins. The plant-based shrimp not only mimic the taste and texture of real shrimp, but they boast the same nutritional value as well.
