Japan Display Created a Sensor for Highly Secure Authentication

Japan Display created a thin biometric sensor that was designed to be used for secure authentication. The biometric sensor is able to authenticate individuals using fingerprints, as well as veins and pulse waves.

The sensor is able to operate using high-speed readout, as well as high-resolution imaging capabilities, all while being only 15 micrometers thin.

In order to create the sensor, Japan Display worked collaboratively with the University of Tokyo on research and development for the unit.

Japan Display states that the sensor could be used for high-level security, as it is able to completely ensure that authentication is accurate.

The company has not announced a released date or price point for the unit.
